Spring Photos

I took Mei Li to Photo Innovations today for her very first photo shoot. These are just some of the 44 different pictures that mommy bought! I bought the CD that had all of the pictures, and then I also got about 20 of them in prints that are absolutely beautiful. I have plenty of pictures for everyone! She liked getting her picture taken until the very end, when she started crying, so of course we had to get that one too.

Random Cuteness

Yesterday was Mei Li's first trip to the zoo. She seemed to like the animals, but most of them stayed away, and not all of them were out. We tried to pet the animals in the petting zoo, but it was the end of the day and they were all ready to go in. Next time maybe they will cooperate more.

The last picture was daddy playing with her hair. I think she may like a mohawk hairdo.

Swimming!!

Two months ago today, Mei Li joined our family. So to celebrate, we took her swimming today for the first time ever! She loved the pool, and never cried or acted afraid. We had a good time, and Mei was very happy.

New toys

Those are some of ther birthday gifts Mei Li got - she loves them! We are having a little bit of grumpiness this week - she is no longer getting her afternoon bottle. The doctor said to start switching her to milk, and to give it to her in a sippy cup. So she only gets a morning bottle and bedtime bottle now, and she is not too happy about it. It is killing mommy - I would rather just give her the bottle so she won't get upset and cry. It is so pitiful!

This is my last week at home with her. That is also killing mommy. I took her over to her day care today, and she was very quiet. Most of the kids had runny noses, and a couple cried ALOT. Monday is not going to be a good day for either of us. Plus , Mei still wakes up 2 or 3 times a night, so next week is going to be rough since we both have to get up early, and we will both have long days. I hate to wish time away, but I hope next week goes quickly, and she adjusts to the new routine.

1st Birthday!!

We are back!

It has taken me some time to adjust since we have been home, and Mei Li was sick last week. She caught a virus over the holidays, and had to stay at the hospital a couple of days. I am happy to report that she is all better, and we have stopped the breathing treatments. Her ear infections have cleared up also. As you can see, she is happy, happy, happy!

In the last few weeks, she has learned alot! She can crawl now, and can sit up from laying down, on her own. She is talking more too - trying to say Bandit and kitty.

I will try to post pictures once a week. Her first birthday is Monday, so I should have some cupcake devouring pictures next week.

Red Couch Pictures

These are the 3 Nanchang babies. Mei, Gracie, and Josie. Mei and Josie were in cribs next to each other.

Today is our last day in China. At 2:45, we take Mei to the US Consulate where we say an oath on her behalf to become an American. As soon as we land in Detroit, it is official. I was surprised to learn that she does not retain her Chinese citizenship, and will only be a US citizen.

We land in Indy at 4:53 pm on Wed. We are flying in from Detroit on Northwest. See you at home!!! Wish us luck on the long plane ride!
